As a six-year-old girl growing up in Uriri, Migori – Kenya, the idea of becoming a successful entrepreneur in Australia seemed like an impossible dream. Yet, twenty years later, that dream has become a reality. My journey from a small village in Western Kenya to a life of limitless possibilities is a testament to the transformative power of education and opportunity.
On a recent trip back to my hometown, it became apparent that so many young people, particularly young girls, are being denied their simple right to quality education. Poor infrastructure in schools, inability to afford necessary fees, and heavy familial responsibilities are just some of the barriers they face in pursuit of education.Â
If access to education is at the core of why a girl like me can go from a village in Western Kenya to live a life of limitless possibilities, I am determined to create the same opportunities for the young girls living in the communities that raised me. Join me as we unlock potential, one girl at a time.
